One Nassau County school is getting a new marquee thanks to a more than $40,000 grant.

The Roosevelt School District had a check delivered Monday thanks to a Community Revitalization Project grant from the Nassau County Legislature.

The full $40,129.52 will go toward the construction of a marquee at the district’s Washington Rose Elementary School.

This will play an integral part in their efforts to effectively inform community members about emergency notifications, district happenings, and other important information, district officials say.

Nassau Legislator Scott Davis presented the money to Superintendent of Schools Dr. Shawn Wightman and marked the start of construction.

School board members, district staff, teachers, and students were also on hand to celebrate the announcement of this exciting addition to the school.
