A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Holbrook Thursday night.

Mario Corvasce, 66, of Holbrook, was in the roadway when he was struck, according to police.

Suffolk’s Major Case Unit detectives tell News 12 the driver of the vehicle, which was traveling southbound, did not stop.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. in front of 780 Broadway Ave.

Corvasce was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead.
