All lanes in both directions of the Bethpage State Parkway were closed following a fatal crash on Friday.

State police say the call came in at 9:30 a.m. for a two-vehicle fatal crash on the parkway. One vehicle had crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle head-on, according to police.

Police have confirmed that one person has died as a result.

The parkway was closed from Exit B1 to the Southern State Parkway and Exit B2 to Boundary Avenue. The highway reopened at 2:10 p.m.
