A Mineola home had multiple illegal weapons, including a ghost gun, assault weapons, gun parts and a homemade shooting range, according to officials.
Wen-Lone Chou, 67, faces 15 years in prison if convicted. Chou’s home on Marcellus Road is just steps from Chaminade High School, as well as near an elementary school and a park.
Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly said, “Hundreds of children go in and out of these schools every day. From the defendant’s bedroom window, he had a birds-eye view of Chaminade High School. His backyard shares a fence with a Mineola school soccer field.”
When asked if the defendant was planning anything, the district attorney said that the investigation is ongoing.
Chou pleaded not guilty at his arraignment and is out on $250,000 cash bail.
