Two Blue Point businesses were the victims of vandalism and theft over the Fourth of July weekend, and now Suffolk County police are asking for the public's help in identifying the group behind the incidents caught on camera. Suffolk County police said a group of males damaged a golf cart, knocked down a fence and stole keys from Bodhi's Beach Shack around 3 a.m. Sunday, July 5. Investigators released pictures showing five individuals as well as the group together. Bodhi's Beach Shack posted on social media the same pictures released by police, as well as two quick clips showing one of the suspects behind the bar around 3 a.m. The popular waterfront business is offering a $500 gift card to anyone who properly identifies the group. "If anyone has information on these individuals, please contact us right away," the business wrote on social media. Across the street, Beach Side Sweets also posted two surveillance videos. The first video shows people in the group trying to punch the front door around 1 a.m. Sunday, before they eventually disperse. A second clip, at 2:50 a.m., about 10 minutes before Bodhi's video, shows one of the guys grabbing a trash can from out front and throwing it at the door. "If anyone knows these individuals, please reach out to us," the business posted on social media. Beach Side Sweets claimed the group also jumped on the hood and roof of a nearby parked car, causing damage to the vehicle, though police did not include that in their crime stoppers alert. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
