The parents of Ethan Falkowitz are seeking damages against Amandeep Singh, his father and several businesses they say overserved Singh alcohol.
As News 12 has previously reported, Falkowitz was one of two teenagers killed in May 2023 when Singh crashed into a car that was bringing the boy home from a tennis match celebration.
The Falkowitz family say Plainview restaurants Iavarone Italian Kitchen and Pizza, and The Shed showed negligence by continuing to serve Singh even after they say he showed visible signs of heavy intoxication.
Singh pleaded guilty to a dozen charges in January, including aggravated vehicular homicide. He was sentenced in February to a maximum of 25 years in prison.
A representative from The Shed provided the following statement:
“Our hearts go out to the families of Ethan and Drew. Given this matter is the subject of litigation, on advice of counsel, we are unable to comment on the allegations but emphasize that our servers and bartenders are well versed in responsible service and alcohol safety.”
