Nassau police officers rescue turtle slowly crossing road

The animal was taken out of harm’s way and escorted to a nearby pond.

Two Nassau County police officers helped safely relocate a turtle they found on a road Wednesday.
The department says the animal was slowly crossing the road when officers Kelleher and Barone came to its rescue.
They took it out of harm’s way and escorted it to a nearby pond.
