Jones Beach drone show rescheduled due to weather
A highly anticipated drone light show at Jones Beach State Park has been postponed due to expected inclement weather but will now take place Monday evening, offering visitors another chance to enjoy the show.
The 20-minute aerial display, which was originally planned for Sunday, has been rescheduled to begin at 9 p.m. on Monday, weather permitting. The show will feature up to 1,000 drones creating coordinated animations in the night sky.
In addition to the scheduling change, the Revolutionary War Reenactment Village, originally set to be held outdoors, has been relocated indoors due to weather concerns. The event will now take place at the Boardwalk Café on the Central Mall on Saturday and Sunday, May 23 and 24, running from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The village will still feature a variety of historical interpreters and reenactors, giving visitors a chance to explore life during the Revolutionary War era. The program had previously been scheduled for Parking Fields 3 and 4.
Organizers encourage attendees to check weather conditions ahead of time and plan accordingly, as Monday’s drone show remains weather dependent.
