Annamarie Patterson, of Brentwood, is living with scleroderma, an autoimmune disease. Every waking moment for the mom of five is painful. Her breathing capacity is at just forty percent and she relies on oxygen to get through the day.
Patterson is in desperate needs of a double lung transplant but says she’s been denied three times because of her housing situation.
She currently lives in a shelter.
The nonprofit Legacy Development Corporation has started a GoFundMe to raise money for a home for Patterson and her kids.
Officials with the nonprofit are hoping that if enough money is raised to move the family into a home, Patterson will then be approved for the surgery she so desperately needs.
“I don’t deserve this,” Patterson told News 12. She said she’s trying to do the best she can for herself and her kids.
