Breeze Airways is expanding its investment on Long Island with the addition of its eighth nonstop route from MacArthur Airport.
Starting Oct. 2, people can fly from Islip to Wilmington International Airport in North Carolina. Limited introductory fares starting at $49 will be available starting today.
“We’ve worked hard both on air service development and preparing the airport terminal and airfield to welcome airlines and the fun new destinations and travel opportunities they bring,” Airport Commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken said.
The fights will travel twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.
This comes just over a week after JetBlue abruptly announced it was canceling a planned route from MacArthur to Boston before flights even took off over a lack of bookings.
