Riverhead police rushed to the Peconic Bay Medical Center on Wednesday morning due to a bomb threat.

Investigators say the hospital received an anonymous phone call from an unknown male stating that bombs had been placed outside of the facility.

Staff immediately contacted police, who sent patrol units to inspect the perimeter.

The search found no signs of suspicious activity, explosive devices or bomb-making materials.

Police say the Riverhead Detective Division are investigating the matter further.
