Five people were arrested during a traffic stop in Nassau County.
Police tell News 12 they were in North Merrick responding to a report of a suspicious person on Van Nostrand Avenue.
They located a male in a 2025 U-Haul cargo van with several other people and conducted the stop.
Officers say they observed multiple credit cards, wallets and identification cards in plain view in the vehicle.
An investigation revealed the items were proceeds from several automobile larcenies in the area.
The five occupants of the van, ranging in age from 16 to 21 years old, were arrested without incident, according to Nassau police.
The individuals will face petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, and grand larceny charges.
