Nassau County police say a 46-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle Sunday evening in Lynbrook.

Detectives say the woman was crossing Sunrise Highway at the Horton Avenue intersection when a 2012 Hyundai struck her at 5:33 p.m.

The woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The 18-year-old man who was driving the vehicle remained at the scene.
