Good morning, Rich. I already got my sweatshirt. We're ready to go this weekend. A lot going on and I'm twinning right now with Ryan Schlatter. You are the Chamber of Commerce president, also the owner of the Oyster Bay Brewing Company, and we have a lot ahead, a lot of excitement for this weekend. Yes, um, there's plenty to do. We have, um. Plenty of food options. We have beer. We have the oyster shucking contest. We're gonna break the record on Saturday, so we should come and watch that. Um, we have the Savannah Bananas coming, which is gonna be very cool. Um, plenty of rides and, uh, really something for everybody. And it's a forty-third year, so obviously it's only growing bigger and better. Yeah, every year, uh, there's improvements, there's new additions, and, um, it's just, it's a lot of fun. What's your favorite part about it? Well, I have to say the beer garden, but also, um, the music is great. We have over 25 bands. Um, the businesses up and down Audrey Avenue, um, have so much to offer, so, um, it's really a great event and, uh, a lot of the money goes to the local not for profits, which is important. I was gonna say the help of sponsorships and people helping out. I mean this is a year-round organizing for this weekend, right? Right. It's a lot of people all year to get to this point and like you said, uh, the sponsors make it happen. And um a lot of it helps uh all the local business, um, the economy and all of the not for profits that we support. Are you ready to handle a lot of people coming this weekend? We're ready. Uh, everybody's ready. We're all set up. We've been setting up all week and it's gonna be a great event. The weather seems to be, uh, supporting us, so that's great. We're talking oysters, food vendors, games for the kids, live music, a little bit of everything if you wanna come on down this weekend at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay and enjoy it all. It's always a good time. I'm with Sergeant Shumro here with the US Army, and this is 4 years now. You guys are bigger and better, and a lot of people love to come and support you guys, right? Yeah, um, so we're with the NASA company, uh, New York City recruiting battalion. We're here to support the community, and, uh, we're just happy to be here. I love it. So I know the kids love coming here because they get the dog tax because you do that every year. And you can do it custom made because you guys have the machine. Yeah, we have the machine here. We can make uh dog test for anybody who wants it and it's pretty nice for you. What is this? Oyster Fest Jen Selig News 12 LI. I love it. I love it. Thank you so much. And what's the best part about being part of this festival? Um, it's just to support the community and we're like, um, obviously giving out, uh, um, stuff, water bottles, pens, and everything like that, and, uh, just, just, just nice, just happy to be here. I love it and as you see in the background we have our town supervisor. Joe Saladeon, no, I want you to go over there because I want to see you trying to do the punching bag because this is one of the activities that people can do when they're here and you're excited as well. I am so excited. This is going to be an amazing weekend. Don't miss out on Oysterfest. It's Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. right here in Theodore Roosevelt Park and on Audrey Avenue in Oyster Bay. This year we have over 25. Bands, more bands than most music festivals, 75 food choices, 160 craft vendors. It's gonna be fun, fun, fun. The other amazing part of this is we solved the parking issue. You go to Syosset railroad station, park for free, get on the shuttle which runs back and forth all day. They'll drop you off at the front gate at Theodore Roosevelt Park. It will be. Amazing. It's going to be great weather. I know Rich is going to protect us on that and bring us beautiful, fantastic weather, and it's going to be amazing. This is a not miss. There's something for everyone. If you love seafood, it's the place to be. If you don't, there are other food choices, so we're going to knock this one out of the park. Let's see you knock it out of the park. Let's do it. He was practicing a little bit, guys, just so you know, but he's doing a great job and this is something else that you can do when you visit the US Army here at Oyster Fest. Hey Rich, good morning. I'm with Ryan and we are with all the rides today. This is the fun part for the kids, that's for sure. Oh, this is the best. Um, Newton doesn't hold back for Oyster Fest. Every ride he owns and then some is here, um, so there's so much for the kids to do, um. It's a lot of fun. It is a lot of fun and there's a lot of planning that goes into this as well, right? Yeah, absolutely, um, months and months and months to get us here. Um, Newton is nice enough with Censory Island. They're gonna open an hour early. Um, it's gonna be low light, low noise for people who enjoy rides that way. So it's something else to offer. And speaking of what children can do here, the Savannah bananas are going to be here too. I know that's a big hype. We did land a couple of local bananas, which is, which is pretty crazy. We were shocked that they were available, but it's great. I think the kids are really going to enjoy it. I love it. And what's your favorite part? I mean, the, uh, the Ferris wheel over here is fantastic, um, although I'm not going on them anymore, but it seems eating the oysters, right? I was expecting you to say that answer. Well, that goes without saying it's oyster fest. That is true. That is true. So when folks come here, they can expect to enjoy oysters, other vendors, live music, right? There is every type of oyster oyster you could imagine, um, prepared every, every which way. Um, the music is phenomenal. We have the best bands here and over 25 of them, so, uh, it's really gonna be a great show. It's always a big favorite. So many people across Long Island come out for this, and we're saving the best for last. Look at these beautiful oysters we have here this morning, and yes, we are going to eat them. Russ, you are the owner of some local amazing restaurants, including Cooper's Bluff, right, which is right down the road, and we have some great oysters that you brought us. Yeah, all local Long Island Oyster Bay oysters actually, which is really cool, and we're gonna sell about 80,000. This week and so we're getting ready to shuck shell. I mean, like, can we just take a like a zoom in on some of these? Like these are incredible and, and some of them have, uh, some shells on them that so we have a big hatchery. We put millions of seedlings of oysters back into Oyster Bay every year, but this really talks about sustainability. We will collect, so we need everybody to get to Oyster Fest this weekend, Saturday and Sunday 11. a.m. to 6 p.m. here at Theodore Roosevelt Park, eat lots of oysters and make sure you put the shells in the collection bins because we reintroduce them into the bay and these smaller seedlings will attach themselves for protection and sustainability. What I always like to say is make sure you're sharing your oysters with everyone and remember. Don't be selfish with your shellfish. Oh, this is a great local area to come up and enjoy oysters. I am so happy that we could give back to the community and have everybody come down here on Saturday and Sunday.
